New Start

Volleyball is off to a great start. With the season undertow, the girl’s volleyball team is ready to rock. The girls held their first two league matches at home. The first match was against Gold Beach High School, while the second was against Myrtle Point High School. And their first away game was at Cascade Christian on September 22nd
The junior varsity kicked off their season with a bang. On September 15th, Tuesday of last week, the J.V. girls started their match against Gold Beach at 5pm. The Tigers lost the first set to their Panthers. But they pulled ahead and won the last two sets, leading them to victory. After the J.V. game ended, the varsity girls took over the court. They started out with a rough beginning. Not wanting to lose their first match, the players pulled ahead and won the last three sets.
On September 17th the Tigers had their second match of the season against Myrtle Point. The J.V. match was almost like a repeat of Tuesday’s game. The first set went to the Bobcats. The Tigers won the second and third set, bringing them to their second win. Afterwards, the varsity girls began their match. They roughed it out and won the first two sets. But after many close calls, Myrtle Point won the last three sets, taking away the Tigers win.
This week on Tuesday, the tiger volleyball team had their first away game at Cascade Christian. The girls had a long drive in excruciating heat. When they got there, the J.V. girls were the first up to rally against the Challengers. Sadly, the J.V. girls lost the first two sets, their first loss. Next up was the varsity girls. The first two sets unwillingly went to the Challengers. Not wanting the match to end so soon, the Tigers pulled ahead and won the third set. The fourth set went to the Challengers after many intense rallies, causing the Tigers to lose their second match
Though the Tigers haven’t won all of their matches, they are still strong. Each player has amazing talent, but each one still different than the others. Go to their games and watch the girls. Cheer them on, because your presence really does make a difference.
